Braille is an essential key to literacy! It allows for reading enjoyment, leads to school success, and opens the doors to future employment. Annually, in late January and early February, students who read braille in grades Pre-K through 12 are invited to participate in the Maryland Regional Braille Challenge reading and writing contests.
Students whose test scores qualify for the National Braille Challenge will be invited to compete at the annual competition held at the Braille Institute in Los Angeles, CA, each June.
